Metal HG Rock Fest in Holguín

The loud and high-pitched sounds of Cuban rock overwhelms the city of Holguín bewitching the many fans there are here. The concerts by bands Claim and Zeus, from Holguín and Havana respectively, served to kick off the eleventh Metal HG National Rock Festival in the downtown Calixto Garcia park.

Prior to the Festival’s official opening, a photo exhibition was inaugurated at the Electa Arenal room of the Art Center.

Debates and lectures on rock by participants and rock-goers are included in the Festival program besides the scheduled concerts. The Rock festival is sponsored by the local branch of the Hermanos Saíz Association and the Provincial Culture Board.

Many concerts will be held at the Armando Mestre recreation center till its closing day on September 26. The Metal HG Festival is a space to disclose the work of bands of this musical genre so attractive to youths all across Cuba.
